This miles-long stretch along France's northwestern coast is defined by granite boulders and crags tracing countless small bays, inlets, and islets. Many of the area's seaside stone formations are nicknamed after their shapes: Imaginative observers say a rabbit, a shark, a turtle, a witch, and other colorful characters can be found outlined in the outcrops. But it's the slight rosy tint borne by the boulders that gives this part of Brittany its common name: Côte de Granit Rose, or Pink Granite Coast.
